So what is Racial Reconciliation? Reconciliation includes a process of public acknowledgment of racist events and crimes. This requires us to look at the current impact of such events, as well as their historical occurrence. Reconciliation allows for individual victims to tell their stories as a healing process. This also includes individual perpetrators acknowledging their complicity.

Through Racial Reconciliation, communities can heal wounds and patch gaps created by racism and help dismantle white supremacy.

What is Community Policing? With staggering evidence of police brutality in America, holding police and law enforcement accountable for the equitable safety and protection of all community citizens is necessary. Community Policing allows citizens to work alongside law enforcement to initiate changes that need to be made, new policies, and prevent violence and harm. This fosters a greater sense of trust in the police and restructures departments to better fit community needs.

Stating the  American Criminal Justice System is flawed is understated, at best.  Many people charged with crimes lack resources and help, leading to wrongful convictions and excessive and even capital sentences. Many policies that led to mass incarceration are rooted in the assumption that Black and brown people are naturally guilty and dangerous. Additionally, poverty and mental illness can be assumed as a reason to incarcerate. It is essential that there is Criminal Justice Reform in our nation, starting in our community.

What is Housing Disparity? Housing Disparity is an inequality in the condition of housing in a community. The lack of adequate housing can have adverse consequences for an individual or a family. The term may apply across a geographic area, temporally between one generation(s), or culturally between groups with different racial or social backgrounds. Housing Disparity is directly related to racial, social, income, and wealth inequality. It is often the result of economic force, discrimination, and segregation.

Mental and Physical health plays a huge part in the overall wellbeing of a community. Poverty and stigma contribute to the health crisis. Governments often lack the funding, assistance, and knowledge to best care for citizens' health. Demanding better resources for public health, researching for oneself, listening to other's stories, and squashing stigmas help to solve the mental and physical health crises in our community.
